It’s that time of the year again…when we get to sleep for an extra hour!! Personally, I like to leave my clocks as is and attempt to go into work 1 hour earlier…this usually only works for about a week. Oh well!

Do you know why we have Daylight Saving Time every year? It accomplishes 3 things according to the Department of Transportation:

1. It saves energy. When we’re awake, we’re more likely to have our TVs, VCRs, and lights on (among other home appliances). By shifting the hours we’re likely to be awake to correspond with the daylight outside, we’re less likely to have the lights on, so we use less electricity.
2. It saves lives. When people’s waking hours correspond with daylight hours, they’re safer. Traffic accidents, for example, are less likely when it’s light out.
3. It cuts down on crime. Crime tends to happen after dark. As is the case with accidents, people are less likely to fall victim to crime when their waking hours are synched up with the sun.

As for me, I just like to be able to sleep in. ZZZZZZZZ

Here are some creative Halloween costume ideas I’ve heard or seen that you can’t buy in the store.

A Double Dare Contestant – I heard this when Kirsten Dunst was being interviewed about what she was going to dress up as this year. She said she was going to get an old Double Dare tshirt and put slime on herself. haha.

A Kid From Battle Royale – In case you’ve never heard of this movie, it’s a famous Japanese movie about a bunch of kids put on an island and instructed to kill each other. The one who survives gets to leave the island (I think this is the plot). This one is pretty easy, just find a schoolgirl uniform and put fake blood all over! Perfect halloween costume!!

The robber from Settlers of Catan – Settlers of Catan is my favorite boardgame. This one is only cute/funny if you know about the game though haha.

I just read this article about our beloved Hiro. Turns out he does programming for movies!! He did the water effects in movies like Pirates of the Carribean, Star Wars, and Terminator 3. Pretty cool!!

I always wanted to fly to the windy city…too bad I have no time :(

I just discoverd something amazing. This something is frozen mashed potatoes!!!

At first, I was a bit skeptical…the idea just doesn’t seem too tasty but as a lover of anything instant and especially of mashed potatoes I had to give it a try. The coolest part of these things are that they are frozen in little balls so you can perfectly measure out how much you want. All you do is add a tiny bit of water (or I hear some people use milk) and microwave. You can also decide how stiff you want your mashed potatoes are by adding less water. I love my mashed potatoes very stiff. Anyways, I tried it out tonight and it was super tasty. It is comparable to the flakes version and actually might even be better!

I haven’t seen it in regular grocery stores but you can find this particular brand at Trader Joe’s.

After watching an excessive amount of Yo Mamma this weekend, (Don’t you hate how MTV will pick one show and show nothing but that show for the whole day??) I decided to google the infamous Harp. He’s the weird white guy that won Yo Mamma’s Best of LA.

I found his mySpace too. His blogs and especially pictures are pretty funny.

His excerpt in Wikipedia reads:

Harp, who quickly gained popularity early on in the series with his high voice and physical antics while doing his jokes, was voted Best of L.A. after beating Vakisha in the first round and Chuck in the final round. I’m so appalled that Rush Limbaugh is still on the air. In this article, it states he has 10 million listeners. ?!??! How is that possible? Anyways, that is not the most appalling part of this article. The article is actually about Rush claiming Michael J Fox is faking the severity of his Parkinson’s Disease in the commercials he’s been doing supporting candidates who favor stem cell research. And then after receiving a huge backlash about this statement he apologizes and issues this statement:

“Michael J. Fox is allowing his illness to be exploited and in the process is shilling for a Democratic politician.”

LOL. Rush is a true idiot.
