LOLCalendar

This calendar is the first free calendar that I’ve ever considered actually printing out and using. It’s based on those popular lolcat pictures from I Can Has Cheezburger.

2008 LOLCalendar

Yes, it’s free! All you have to do is print it. I wish I had some nice glossy paper to print this on and give it to my cat loving friends.

Most Emailed Photos Of 2007

Yahoo has posted their most emailed photos for 2007. Go here to check them out. I’m kind of disappointed in the list. Some of the photos weren’t that interesting. But, there are some that are really disturbing so be prepared when you click through them!

How Many Episodes Are Left?

I can’t believe the writer’s strike is still going on but it is. Here are how many new episodes are left for each TV show:

Strike Chart

My shows:
Heroes: Eleven episodes will be produced. Eleven episodes have aired, so there is zero left.
Lost: Eight episodes will be produced. None have aired yet, so there are eight episodes left.
The Office: Twelve half-hour episodes will be produced. Twelve half-hour episodes have aired, so there are zero half-hour episodes left.

The show 24 has been delayed indefinitely until the strike is over.

RetailMeNot Addon For Your Browser

I thought I posted about RetailMeNot before but I couldn’t seem to find it using my search (does my search suck?). Anyways, RetailMeNot is a really cool coupon site that I’ve been using exclusively when I need an online coupon. You type in what website you want a coupon for and they’ll show you the latest coupons. The coupons are submitted by users and also rated so you can see which coupons actually work (a problem I have a lot with other coupon sites, half of them are usually expired or broken).

Anyways, it’s sort of a hassle to remember to visit the site sometimes to check if there are any coupons but with this new addon when you are on a website with a coupon, it will automatically notify you that there are coupons at the top of the browser! Unfortunately, it is only for FireFox users (doesn’t work for IE). BTW, if you haven’t switched out of IE you really should. I’m currently using Flock, which is pretty cool. It has a lot of nifty features!

Download the RetailMeNot addon here. (Firefox users only)

“Unnecessary Quotation Marks” Blog

This blog is too funny. It shows images of quotation marks being unnecessarily used.

My Picks From Trader Joe’s Fearless Flyer

Every month(? actually I’m not sure how regularly they send these out), TJs sends out their newsletter of new and recommended products. I looooove it. Their products are usually so good and cheap! Yeah, if you don’t live near a Trader Joe’s I feel sorry for you. I have 2 within 5 mins of where I live and also another 2 that are 5 mins from where I work. Heaven! Anyways, here are my picks from their most recent newsletter which is holiday themed.

Dark Chocolate Belgian Truffles $3.99 – I’ve been looking for a less pricy alternative to Godiva’s. We’ll see if these can compare. For the price, it doesn’t really matter though! From the newsletter: The fillings are coated with a solid chocolate shell and then finished with a generous dusting of toasted almond flakes, buttery, crisp crepe cookies, white chocolate shavings or sprinkles of dark chocolate. These would make great gifts for coworkers!

Nonalcoholic Holiday Sparklers $2.29 – I love martinelli’s so I’m sure I’ll love these. They come in blueberry, pomegranate, or cranberry.

Salami made with wine $3.99 – I love trying anything new and this salami infused with wine (chianti or pinot grigio) sounds yummy! I can’t wait to try this with boyrobot who loves salami.

Cranberry Apple Chutney $2.29 – Even though Thanksgiving just passed, I don’t feel like I got my fill of cranberry sauce. This might just hit the spot on my next turkey sandwich!

Angus Cheeseburger & BBQ Pork Sliders $4.99 – I don’t know what it is but food that is a smaller version of the real thing just makes me want to eat it even more! I love sliders so I’m quite happy to find out they are stocking these now. Can’t wait to put some in my fridge.

Mini Biscotti With Cranberry & Pistachio $6.99 – Ok, I’m not sure if it’s the “mini” part or the fact that I love cranberries and pistachios that draw me to these biscottis. They are also supposedly made a bit softer than your typical biscotti. Can’t wait to try these.

Ok, I think those are my main picks but there are tons of other things that interest me. The way they describe each product makes it sounds so scrumptious and of such good quality that I want to try them all. If you’d like to see the rest of the newsletter, you can do so at their website (bottom left corner).

Close Your Eyes

before you listen to this….

Yes, that’s a guy. He entered into this Give Us Your Voice contest at Broadway World where they were supposed to record a youtube video of them singing a song from The Little Mermaid. Absolutely amazing!!

Check out his rendition of A Whole New World here where he does BOTH voices!

I was checking out some of the other videos from the contest and I couldn’t find anyone else who had more votes than him. I hope he won!

GR/Qeeper First Ever Giveaway!

It’s been an exciting year for myself as I’ve been seriously delving into the world of blogging. I now have two blogs I consistently update (girlrobot.net and qeeper.com). Anyways, it’s been really cool watching my blogs grow, getting to know other bloggers, and finding people that actually like what I write! It’s a pretty time consuming process, but one I really enjoy. To help grow the readership and to show my appreciation for current readers, I wanted to start my first ever giveaway! I debated on several things to give away but I finally settled on something that I would love to receive and I think most others could enjoy as well. Since I live in Los Angeles and am close to a lot of asian stores, I have a great selection of Asian snacks to choose from. So the prize will be:

A variety box of Asian/Japanese candy and snacks (including but not limited to pocky sticks, rice crackers, japanese gummy candy and other unusual japanese candy, etc)!!! I will also throw in some of my favorite candy ever, those Ikea gummy cars I posted about awhile ago haha.

I promise, if you enjoy trying new food….I won’t disappoint!

Basically, it will be a box similar to these (as taken from the Snacks From Around the World community):

So what do you need to do to win this thing??

Well there are 4 easy ways. You can even do all 4 of them for a total of 6 entries (two are worth 2 entries)! I’ll start with the easiest one.

1. Use my contact form and tell me what you like/don’t like about my blog(s). Or if even that is too much for you, just tell me you’d like to enter my giveaway hehe. Please be sure to leave your REAL email address since if you don’t, I have no way of contacting you if you win! Also, please use giveaway for the subject. Worth 1 entry.

2. Add me to your blogroll or links page. Usually I can see from my incoming links if you’ve linked to me but to be sure you’ll probably want to email me with the URL where you’ve placed the link. Worth 1 entry.

3. Subscribe to my RSS feed. I recommend using Google Reader. Over the next couple of weeks, I will display a special word at the bottom of my RSS posts. Just email me what the word is. You can use my contact form, email me at kim at girlrobot dot net, or even aim me at dustofconfusion. Worth 2 entries.

4. Make a blog post about one or both of my blogs: girlrobot.net and/or qeeper.com. You can write a full on review or even just a short line like “Check out these cool blogs I’ve been reading (insert girlrobot.net and/or qeeper.com)”. Worth 2 entries.

Easy, huh? Again, if you do 1-4, you’ll have a total of 6 entries submitted in my giveaway. Or if you only want to do 1, that’s fine too!

Contest ends December 16th so get your entries in! :)

PS. I will be using a random number generator to pick the winner.
PSS. I don’t know how many people will actually join this giveaway but you probably have a really good chance of winning if you enter! :)
