Little Children 82% on RottenTomatoes

In a suburban town full of perfect parents devoted to rearing their children for Harvard futures, a stay-at-home mom has an affair with an ex-jock, stay-at-home dad who rebels against his wife’s wishes that he become a big-bucks lawyer.

Little Children takes a penetrating look at suburbia and its flawed individuals with an unflinching yet humane eye.

Hot Deal: Get $15 If You Spend $30 Or More With Paypal

This is pretty hot. Go here for a list of stores that accept paypal.

Too bad this doesn’t work with my roomate. We do all of our bills through paypal: rent, electricity, phone/dsl, etc. It’s great! Don’t have to worry about writing or depositing checks. I highly recommend you use this method if you are living with roomates.

Whatever Happened To The My Super Proposal

I’m sure most of you who heard about the man who was planning to propose to his gf during a Superbowl commerical were wondering what happened when the commercial never aired. Well it turns out the company sponsoring him pulled out at the last minute. They ended up airing the commercial during Veronica Mars instead, which is his gf’s favorite tv show. I missed it but of course it’s on the internet. Check it out:

The proposal is ok, but the gf’s reaction is priceless. Go here to see it.

How To Hide Your Money From A Burglar

pfadvice has posted an interesting article about where to hide your money from a burglar. How did he find out the answer to this? From a former burglar!

What I got from the article:

– Best place to hide your valuables is AT THE BANK!
– Don’t hide your money too hard or your house will get trashed. If a burglar is intent on finding money, he will go to great lengths to get it. Suggestions were to leave a little bit of money around or to leave a marked envelope in an easily accessible drawer with “Bank Safe Deposit Box” on the outside and a list of items on the inside to tip off the burglar that you keep your valuables at the bank.
– If you have a safe, make sure it is the bolted down variety.
– A good place to hide money is in toys in a children’s room, bottom of a trashcan, or in a box of laundry detergent.
– Don’t hide money in electronics (duh!) or in weird places that seem out of the ordinary. His example was a campbell soup can in your bedroom. The object is out of place and draws attention to burglars.

Protect Yourself And Get A Free Credit Report

I was reading this interesting story on getrichslowly where this guy was mysteriously getting billed from Sprint even though he didn’t even have a Sprint account! Luckily, his mail was still getting forwarded from his old house which was where he was getting these bills even after 6 months (usually they stop doing that at 6 months). If he did not get these bills, he would have had a really bad mark on his credit history and accrued a lot of late payment fees.

From the article, I learned that you are entitled to 3 free credit reports a year. To obtain this, go to annualcreditreport.com. You’ll have to enter in your information, including your SSN. From the report you can find out if there’s any suspicious activity going on with your credit. Perhaps, someone has opened an account using your information and you don’t even know it. Or in the case of the previous article, someone is billing you and you are racking up an unknown debt! With the amount of identity fraud going on nowadays, it’s a very smart thing to do to look at your credit report 1-3 times a year. It’s easy and can save you a ton of headaches down the road. A lot of people don’t think it will happen to them, but I would say every other person I know has had some time of identity fraud done to them, including myself! It happens more than you think

Another Travel Guide: Wikitravel

I’m in the midst of planning my next big vacation…Peru. As always, I am on the lookout for good travel guides and I stumbled upon Wikitravel. It’s great! Just like Wikipedia, people can update it with their own thoughts and suggestions which is great for travel recommendations. I always like reading what the average person thinks is fun to do, see, or eat in another country.

Lemon Coolers Recipe

I found a recipe for my extinct Lemon Coolers!!! I’m not sure if these are the same as the ones that the Girl Scouts sell but at this point I’m desperate. It seems so easy too, I can’t wait to try it. Perhaps I will make it this weekend if I make it out to the grocery store.

1 (18.25-ounce) package lemon cake mix
1 (7-ounce) container whipped topping, thawed
1 large egg, slightly beaten
2 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Preheat oven to 350*F (175*C).
Mix together cake mix, whipped topping and egg.
Drop by teaspoonfuls into bowl of powdered sugar and roll to coat; shaping into balls.
Bake for 10 to 12 minutes. Do not brown.
Makes 3 dozen.

MMM, how I missed the airy, tart goodness of LEMON COOLERS. haha
