My Favorite Wikis

Wikis are everywhere and there is one for everything nowadays. Here are some of my favorites:

Wikipedia – Everybody knows about this website by now. It’s always the first place I check when I want to research/read more info about something. It’s mostly right. :)

WikiTravel
– I’ve blogged about this website before but it’s worth mentioning again. Great resource for travelers!

WikiHow
– Another one I link to a lot. This pretty much has a howto for everything.

CookbookWiki
– everything to do with food and cooking…includes recipes, howtos, and tips

Wikimapia
– This is a cool google mashup that lets people make comments about anyplace in the world.

Uncyclopedia – this is the funny/sarcastic version of wikipedia. always good for a laugh.

Lostpedia – must read for lost fans

Mentat Wiki – this one is pretty cool. it has different methods on thinking and gives you tips for studying/memorizing. Great if you’re still in school.

The Best Destinations of 2008

TripAdvisor compiled a list of the top destinations based from their reviews. As you know, I love traveling and TripAdvisor is always one of the websites I check so I know this list should be pretty good. I’ve been to Kyoto and Machu Picchu….both are amazing. I can’t wait to see the rest!!!

Here are the #1 spots for each category:

World – Milford Sound, New Zealand
US – Lake Tahoe, California
Europe – Rhodes, Greece
Asia – Kyoto, Japan
South Pacific – Milford Sound, New Zealand
Latin America/Carribean – Philipsburg, St. Maarten
South America – Machu Picchu, Peru
Africa – Cape Town, Africa
Canada – Banff, Alberta

Me and my friends at Machu Picchu!

Brain Dump Mondays: Happy Cinco De Mayo!

I don’t have much time to blog but I just wanted to mention 3 things:

1. Yesterday me and some friends decided to try and do the Wicked Raffle (you can read about it in the FAQ but basically they give away 13 pairs of front row tickets 2.5 hours before each show every day) and we all ended up getting in! We got to see Wicked FRONT ROW for only $25!!! Normally the tickets cost $90. I was really happy because when we saw it the first time we came late so we missed the first 20 mins of the show so now we’ve seen the whole thing and it was just as good the 2nd time!

2. We’re throwing an impromptu Cinco de Mayo party at our apt today do if you’re free… stop by! There will be tacos and beer. I’m going to try and make these taco cups:

MMMMMMMM!

3. (recently added) I forgot to mention that I finally tried Father’s Office! The burger is interesting…not really a typical burger but it was pretty good. I had a sip of my roommate’s fruity beer and that was really good as well! We went to the new location in Culver City…it was nice and not too crowded. We got to sit outside on a beautiful day. Great lunch!

One More Friday Link

This one deserves its own post:

7 yr old takes a joyride in his grandmother’s durango

Be sure to check out the video, it’s hilarious. First off…that kid is 7 yrs old?! He’s as tall as me (ok, that’s not saying much but still!). And there are some choice quotes in there like when he was asked if he should be punished and he replies “no videogames for a weekend”. haha. This kid has a bright future ahead of him.

MTV Spoof: Over The Hills

I heard about this on Kiis FM one morning. It’s pretty funny if you’ve ever watched The Hills. This version is redone by senior citizens acting out the exact lines from the show.
