The Benefits Of Nuts

I always read about eating almonds and their health benefits but did you know the other nuts can be just as healthy in their own way??

Pistachios – reduce the risk of heart disease, promotes eye health, provide fiber

Cashews – has the “good” fat, great for people with diabetes, high antioxidant content, good source of magnesium, prevents gall stones

Walnuts – rich in fiber and antioxidants, helps to lower LDL cholesterol

Pecans – helps to prevent breast and prostate cancer, lose weight, high in protein

I started getting into eating nuts again after reading a recommendation for Trader Joe’s Just A Handful of Almonds from notMartha. I’ve taken to keeping a bag of these in my purse at all times for when I have the munchies! Wish they made them for all of the other nuts too but I guess I can always make my own snack bags :)
