Innocent And In Prison
The story of Ray Towler is fascinating and completely heartbreaking:
DNA evidence releases man from life in prison after almost 30 years
It makes me feel thankful for everything. for the little things especially. even for having a job to go to.
And it reinforces my stance on the death penalty. This exact same scenario has happened to people who were sentenced to death! I am wholeheartedly against the death penalty.
Lastly, I wonder how the four people felt when they realized their mistaken testimonies wasted an innocent man’s life in prison. It’s sad that things like this happen and even sadder it took him so long to get out despite having the proof years before he was actually released.

Yes, I don’t argue that some people DO deserve the death penalty but I don’t agree with how people are judged and can be sentenced to death by an imperfect system. It’s so sad to think of innocent people getting the death penalty!

Yeah this is so sad. I think the death penalty if sentenced should be done with extreme caution if anything. While I believe and eye for an eye, you better have a confession without a doubt situation. I don’t necessarily believe in it, but in some cases, I think it might.
There are cases like the Green River Killer where I believe in it. That one without a doubt. If you’re not familiar with it, look it up. Interestingly enough, they did think another person was the killer, and turned out to be innocent. Some people think he still isn’t though.
Scary!
