How To Unshrink Wool
I’ve ruined sooo many wool sweaters by shrinking them in the washer/dryer. Yes, I know I’m dumb! heheh. Anyways, I was overjoyed to read that you can unshrink wool by doing these steps:
1. Place the wool item in a sink full of warm water.
2. Soak for 10 minutes.
3. Remove the item and squeeze out excess water.
4. Let dry on a towel.
5. Carefully stretch and pull the item back to its original shape.
Now I need to find where I put my favorite shrunken wool cardigan….

Nice! I don’t know if you’re a knitter, but the wetting and stretching technique is called blocking. Knitters use it to flatten the edges that tend to curl up or makes a sweater fit better for the wearer. It makes the knitted piece look neater. I do block my knitting, but I didn’t know you can block a shrunken sweater to get it back into it’s normal shape. Just a tip (and not trying to be all smart and stuff), after you wet and stretch it, you can pin it down on top of a towel and let it dry like that to make sure that it doesn’t shrink back up. That or when you lay it down, you can fill it with something like newspaper or pillows or something like that to give it the desired shape.
BTW, I like your blog.
