If you travel a lot, this website is a great tool to use!
Enter in your hotel address and it will spit back a bedbug report.
If you encounter bed bugs at a hotel, be sure to enter it into the registry to warn others! Stop the spread of bed bugs. So gross!!!

This blog, WTF Comcast, is hilarious. They post strange movie descriptions shown on Comcast’s OnDemand. For example:
I wonder who they hire to write these things??

If you’re still looking around for gifts, here are a few recommendations from me:
For the parents
Canon Selphy ES30 Compact Photo Printer – I think there is a newer version of this that talks but electronics that talk tend to annoy me. Anyways, I think these make great gifts for parents since if your parents are like mine they don’t really like viewing pictures on the computer…but they LOVE their digital camera! Now they can easily print their digital prints whenever they want. This printer is supposed to be very easy to use (which is essential for parents!) and has great reviews
For the nerdy friend/brother/sister
The Settlers of Catan – Yeah, I talk about this game ALL of the time and anyone who knows me knows about it but anyways, it is a great gateway game into the world of boardgames. If they are already playing SoC, then try getting them Puerto Rico (another great game, but way more complicated).
For the last minute gift
Netflix Subscription – pretty much everyone who has netflix raves about it!
For the young kids
I Spy – Every kid I know goes through an I Spy craze. They come as books or puzzles but basically you’re given a picture and a list of items to find in the picture. It’s like this generation’s Where’s Waldo!
For the photography enthusiast
Lightscoop – Hmmm, I hope my brother isn’t reading this because I got him one of these for Christmas! Anyways, I read a bunch of reviews about this flash diffuser and it really does have awesome results. I can’t wait for him to use it!
Ok that’s all for now…if I have time I will add more. Is there anybody you are having trouble finding gifts for??

Scientists crack entire genetic code of cancer – yup, smoking and the sun are bad!
Top 10 phobias – The first one is the dentist. True story: I went for almost 10 years without going to the dentist because I have dentist phobia. In fact, this year was the first time I went back! Still never had a cavity :D
Sketchy Santas – The front page is kind of lacking but there are some truly sketchy ones in the archives. This one is pretty much giving me nightmares.
IRS targets single mom making $10/hr – this story is so messed up!!
Man recounts his experiences with the British healthcare vs US – his conclusion? he is for the public plan
Man becomes first person to “finish” world of warcraft – no comment
Author of a book on Amazon can’t seem to take a bad review – the author is the one named niteflyr. click to read the 27 page flame war. i love the internets!

omg. I have been so busy and completely neglecting this blog. I have reasons though:
1. christmas shopping – I started early but I have so many people to shop for that now I am behind!!
2. boyrobot’s bday (the big 3-0!!) – 2 bday dinners, laugh factory, trip to SF, caving expedition, and a bed & breakfast (more to come about this!)
3. 2nd shift – I’ve been working 2nd shift at work a few days a week which totally throws off my schedule
and most importantly….
4. I’m in escrow for a house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (finally!)
Hopefully everything works out though and we get it. I don’t feel comfortable sharing more details until we actually have keys in hand. I’m so excited!!
So yeah…I’m not sure when everything will calm down. I am going home (Oklahoma) for christmas break though so I’ll have lots of down time then. I will at least try to get Friday Links in this week though! I have lots of awesome links to share with you!!

Wolfram Alpha is a math student’s dream. The website aims to try and answer any question that is computable by using built-in algorithms and data that is constantly growing. This basically means they can answer most math problems! Yes, I’m talking about limits, derivatives, polynomials, etc. And not only do they solve it for you but they show you EVERY STEP.
Geez….kids have it SO easy nowadays! Check out the Wolfram Alpha blog for more examples.
