Brain Dump Mondays: Bettering Myself

Eat more greens – I think I need to start eating more salads at lunch.

Exercise – a constant on my list. I stopped walking the stairs at work…gonna start that up again!

take care of my skin – my sister bought me one of these dermalogica skin care kits and she highly recommends it. I really need to start a daily skin care regimen now that I’m getting all old and stuff. :(

volunteering – for the past year I didn’t do any volunteering. I am thinking about joining Reading Partners since I love kids, reading, and there is a school right by my work! Any other fun volunteering activites out there?

learn a new skill – I haven’t decided what this is yet. I do want to learn embossing though and play around with some designs for my wedding programs!

get more involved with politics – this last election really excited a lot of people including me. before I didn’t care about politics because I didn’t feel like it affected me that much. Now I see how important voting is, especially when it comes to these propositions! I want to be more knowledgable about issues that are being voted on so that I can make a more informed decision on how I vote. I also want to know more about these elected officials that are supposed to represent me.

Here’s a 50% off at Michaels – get yourself an embossing machine. It’s a must have for wedding.

I, too, have made a conscious effort to eat more greens. I make sure to have fruit and/or vegetables with each and every meal. You can always make a big ass salad for lunch – get some spinach and sweet lettuce, add tomatoes, onions, peppers, and roast beef lunch meat or smoked salmon or chicken breast. It’s pretty filling and tasty.

Exercise is another easy one. I don’t know where you work, but take the stairs as much as possible and every hour, get up and walk around your building/floor. It helps prevent computer fatigue as well.

As for skin, my ex got me hooked on this vitamin C serum that you can make yourself: http://www.thepersonalformulator.com/wvss/faq.php?#14. You mix up distilled water, L-ascorbic acid and glycerine. She swears by it and even though I’m a manly man, I secretly use it.

I seriously hate eating salads. I’d rather eat asian food because they have a lot more stir fry veggie options. I love stir fried veggies!!!

I’m thinking of doing: muchlove.org

I’d love to do a volunteer project overseas that isn’t affiliated with religion.
