If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Moms are becoming more and more tech savvy. I know many who even have their own ipods (which btw, if she doesn’t have one yet you can get her one with a free special message engraved!)! Show your geeky mom your appreciation for her and make her life easier by getting one of these great gadgets for Mother’s Day.

1. Digital Photo Frame - Here’s a techy yet thoughtful gift idea. With all of those digital photos you’ve been taking why not stick a few memorable ones of you and your mom into a digital photo frame?

2. Electronic Shopper - this is a great gift for the busy mom who needs a gadget to help organize her hectic schedule. This handy device has voice recognition and lets your mom keep track of all of the things she needs to remember and you can even stick it on the fridge. Very cool!

3. Dyson Slim - the latest in their line of high end vacuum cleaners. it’s supposed to be as powerful as their other models but this one weighs only 15 lbs!

4. Phone Flasher - Tired of your mom missing your phone calls because she didn’t hear it ring? With this cute leather heart accessory she can attach it to her purse and see when her phone is ringing by the flashing light!

5. Tivoli Fashion Songbook - Functions as an alarm, clock, radio, and iPod speaker and it doesn’t get any cuter than this.

6. Jawbone bluetooth headset - rated as CNETs highest bluetooth headset with incredible noise cancellation technology.

7. Laptop Bag - any mom cool enough to have a laptop deserves a nice bag to carry it in. this list includes the top 10 laptop bags for moms. The ones shown below are Vivier laptop bags.

8. Speaking of carrying cases, how about this cute neoprene case from Photojojo. I like it because it’s not bulky but instead fits nice and snug and will do a great job of protecting your mom’s digicam. It also has a nice loop for attaching to purses, etc.

9. Ice cream maker - This is great for the mom that likes to have every kitchen gadget…why not get an ice cream maker?

10. Also, if your mom likes to cook, why not get a bunch of little kitchen gadgets and throw them into a gift basket? She’ll love having updated, cute tools for her kitchen. Some ideas? A cupcake kitchen timer, Crying Baby Bottle Opener, Dunk Mug, and Onion goggles

New Month, New Banner

Filed under: Personal — girlrobot @ 11:55 pm

For anyone who’s been visiting my website for awhile you’ll have noticed that I change my banner every month. This month’s banner is not really May related though but it has something to do with what will occupy most of this month for me. Next week I’m finally leaving for my trip to Peru where I’ll be hiking Machu Picchu (which is what is pictured in the banner)!!! Can you tell I am excited?

Anyways, I also wanted to drop a note and welcome all of the new readers to my website. I’ve hit an all time high in my RSS subscriptions so I can see my website is actually growing which is really exciting for me considering how much time I spend on this thing :P. I hope that I’m writing about interesting topics and that you’ll continue to read my site. If you have any suggestions/questions/comments, feel free to contact me. I answer all of my emails :)

Diet 7up Challenge

Register for a free diet 7up challenge kit and see if their diet version really does taste better!

We’ve reinvented Diet 7UP with more natural lemon lime flavor. It is even more refreshing, and guess what! There’s even less diet aftertaste!

We’re letting you make the call on the New Diet 7UP. While supplies last, we’re giving away Diet 7UP Taste Challenge kits. Each kit contains the New Diet 7UP and two other competing diet lemon lime soft drinks. Try each of the soft drinks, and let your taste buds tell you which is best.

I’ve never been a fan of diet drinks and out of all of the sodas I think I drink 7up the least but it might be worth a try to finally have a diet drink without that diet aftertaste!

Funny The Office Quotes

Filed under: Fun — girlrobot @ 8:52 am

I’m still in search of Season 1 of The Office. Can whoever is renting it from the Blockbuster on Pico please return it already!!!

Until then, here are some funny quotes from the show:

[During a "Diversity Day" exercise; Angela is wearing a sign on her forehead that says "Jamaican."]
Kevin: Hey.
Angela: Hey.
Kevin: You wanna go to the beach?
Angela: Sure.
Kevin: You wanna get high?
Angela: No.
Kevin: I think you do, mon.

Oscar: Both my parents were born in Mexico, and they moved to the United States a year before I was born, so I grew up in the United States… my parents were Mexican.

Michael Scott: Wow, that is a great story. That’s the American dream right there, right? Um, let me ask you, is there a term besides ‘Mexican’ that you prefer? Something less offensive?

Dwight Schrute: Studies show that more information is passed through watercooler gossip than through official memos, which puts me at a disadvantage because
[picks up water bottle]
Dwight Schrute: I bring my own water to work.

Dwight Schrute: The purse girl hits everything on my checklist: creamy skin, straight teeth, curly hair, amazing breasts. Not for me… for my children. The Schrutes produce very thirsty babies.

[Michael attempts to assemble a basketball team and Oscar, of Mexican descent, approaches]
Oscar: I can play, if you need any help.

Michael Scott: I will use your talents come baseball season, my friend. Or if we ever decide to box.

Michael Scott: Toby is in HR, which technically means he works for corporate, so he’s really not a part of our family. Also, he’s divorced, so he’s really not a part of his family.

Michael Scott: Would I rather be feared or loved? Um… Easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.

Michael Scott: You may look around, and see two groups here. White collar, blue collar. But I don’t see it that way. You know why not? Because I am collar-blind.
