I noticed on Crave they have an article about the top 10 games you can dl on your Wii. The only game I’ve dled so far is old school bomberman which is such a fun game to play with a group of people. I’ll have to check some of these out. I forget to make use of the wide variety of games they have to dl for relatively cheap ($5-$10). Here is their top 10:
1. Super Mario 64 (N64)
2. Super Mario World (SNES)
3. Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES)
4. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64)
5. Super Metroid (SNES)
6. Paper Mario (N64)
7 Gunstar Heroes (GEN)
8. Star Fox 64 (N64)
9. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (GEN)
10. Ninja Gaiden II: Dark Sword of Chaos (NES)
My favorite type of frosting is of the cream cheese variety so when I saw this recipe on Slashfood touted as being “the last cream cheese frosting recipe you’ll ever need“, I knew I would have to bookmark it for future cupcake usage. The recipe is surprisingly simple:
Beat 8 oz. cold cream cheese (not rock solid, but it means you can use it straight out of the refrigerator) with 5 Tbsp. softened butter and 2 tsp. vanilla until combined. Gradually add 2 c. powdered sugar that has been sifted after measuring. Continue to add more sifted powdered sugar until you reach a consistency and sweetness that fits your taste.
Maybe this will give me a reason to whip up some halloween cupcakes tonight like these cute vampire ones:

Happy Halloween everybody!!

This cake is SO awesome. Somebody ordered a cake from Walmart and left these instructions for the person icing the cake:
“Best Wishes Suzanne” and underneath that write “We Will Miss You.”
Sounds normal enough. Here is what he got:

Best Wishes Suzanne
Under Neat that
We will Miss you

I haven’t been using my Visa card lately because I’ve been getting much better rewards with my Mastercard and Discover credit cards but with this promotion, I’ll definitely have to remember to use it for these stores!
Visa has a promotion going on that applies to a select number of stores. Most of the deals are coupon codes to use online or actual coupons you can print out to use at participating stores. Some of the deals are pretty good consisting of 15% off to $10 off your purchase. Some of the stores are:
Target.com
Urbanoutfitters.com
Banana Republic
Netflix
eToys
Brookstone
Papa John’s Pizza
Most of these stores I shop at anyways so if I can shave a little off the top using my Visa card, why not!
I’m such a fan of Scott Adams (creator of Dilbert) and his blog that I can’t help but give a shout out to his new book which is based on the best of his old blog posts (which have since been removed from his archives). His new book is called Stick To Drawing Comics, Monkey Brain and he is holding a contest on his website right now. If you’re a fan of Scott Adams, you’ll love the prizes he has:
1 Grand Prize: A framed and signed original Dilbert comic selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion (worth $1500!)
25 Second Prizes: one autographed copy of the book Stick to Drawing Comics, Monkey Brain.
All you have to do is submit a humorously over-the-top book blurb in the comments to this blog post.

$16.47 at Amazon.
He’s also holding a book signing on Nov 7th at his restaurant Stacey’s at Waterford. Ahhh, I wish I lived up north so I could go!
I posted AOL’s list of the cheapest people last year and this year they’ve rounded a new batch. Some of my faves:
Mail Fraud
Submitted by: LoriBNJ
My friend’s Dad used to put the person he wanted his mail to go to in the return address area, and purposely forget postage. When it was returned, it wasn’t returned to him; it was brought to the person he wanted to send it to!
Dodging the Check
Submitted by: Deborahctroy
A large group of friends would go out after the theater. One professional man would order the cheapest thing on the menu, then when others were finished eating, he would finish whatever was on their plates. When the check came he would grab it first, then pass it on without putting his money in. When it came back around to him there was always enough to cover the check and tip and he would put in a dollar.
Frugal Extremes

While shopping at a roadside fruit stand, I watched my friend Wally remove the stems from the cherries he was buying. I asked him why and he said they would weigh less at checkout. Wally also only allows his turn signals to flash two times because, according to him, the bulbs will last longer!
