Shut Down Day - May 3rd

The other day I was watching that South Park episode called Logging Off, which spoofs what would happen if the internet died. It’s hilarious if you are as internet dependent as I am. It actually made me feel kind of…lame. I really use the computer way too much! I don’t know what to do with myself without my laptop. In fact, at this very moment I’m in my usual position with my two roommates. We are all in the living room on the couch with our eyes glued to our laptops haha. Anyways, I was reading about Shut Down Day which is an experiment to see if people can live without their computers for 24 hours. It’s on a Saturday (May 3rd), so it’s actually doable for me. I’m not sure what one day would prove, but why not….I’ll be shutting down my computer that day. I related WAY too much to that South Park episode! hehe.
i still need to see that episode! my cousin’s been telling me to watch it. i am dependent on the internet but i think when im at home im definitely able to resist just because there are other things for me to do. i usually go weekends w/out checking my mail… sucks when i have to catch up on them haha. so are you also going to be avoiding using internet on your phone too? ooooh… and what if you need directions somewhere :P

yeah, i will try to avoid my phone too. that means no aim! hehe. and i will try not to go anywhere new so i wont have to look up directions hehe.

I am going to give the ShutDown Day a shot with you. I am willing to bet that it will be a lot tougher than I think it will be. I haven’t seen the South Park episode yet, but my buddy DVR’ed it and has beeen bugging me every day to come and watch it with him. I think he basically thinks it deserves a Pulitzer.
